Floating Plants
House of PondFloating plants are aquatic plants that live on or near the surface of water bodies such as ponds, lakes, and rivers. These plants are unique in that they do not need to be rooted in soil, but instead, their roots hang down into the water, extracting nutrients from the water column.
Some common types of floating plants include water lilies, lotus, duckweed, and water hyacinth. These plants provide many benefits to aquatic ecosystems, including providing shade and shelter for fish and other aquatic organisms, reducing nutrient levels in the water by absorbing excess nutrients, and improving water quality by oxygenating the water.
